As part of an industrial robotics integration, FANUC France contacted us to address a protection issue on FANUC SR-3iA SCARA robots.

Project context: The environmental challenge and risks to the Z-axis
The SCARA robots had already been delivered and installed at the end user's site when the operating conditions changed at the last minute.
Initially intended for a standard environment, the robot found itself exposed to an environment heavily loaded with dust.
In addition, a glue dispensing application generated residues likely to accumulate on the mechanical parts, particularly on the Z-axis rod.
However, the robots were not equipped with protective bellows, directly exposing their components to:
- Risks of premature wear,
- Contamination risks,
- Performance degradation.
Our intervention: A custom-made and personalized protection kit
Following this issue, FANUC called upon our expertise to provide a solution that was both suitable and quick to implement. We proposed a protection kit that we had previously developed in collaboration with their teams.

This kit was then customized to meet the specific constraints of the end user, including:
- Integration of pneumatic networks,
- Routing of electrical cables,
- Adaptation to space constraints.
Result: Deployment of Eclore bellows and line reliability
The SCARA robots are now protected thanks to our Eclore bellows solutions from the FANUC range, which provide an effective barrier against:
- Dust,
- Glue splashes,
- Industrial contaminants.
The kit was quickly installed on-site by the customer. Today, the robots operate reliably on the production line, with long-term protection for sensitive components.
Conclusion: Production continuity and reduced maintenance costs
Thanks to our customizable and easy-to-install protection kit solutions, we enabled our customer to secure their equipment while ensuring:
- Production continuity,
- Reduction of future maintenance costs.
Our expertise in industrial robotics allows us to design custom-made protections adapted to every challenge.
