The challenge: wear and risks to precision axes
GN Hearing A/S was dealing with premature wear of the rubber bellows on its guide tables. This degradation posed a real risk to the mechanical axes: without a sufficiently sealed and robust protection, the equipment was exposed to impurities, creating risks of:
- drastically reducing their service life;
- affecting the precision of movements.
The constraint: optimal protection in an ultra-compact environment
The specifications required by GN Hearing A/S included a significant constraint: space.
The protective solution had to meet two conflicting objectives:
- High-performance mechanical protection against external hazards.
- Extreme compactness to fit into the reduced space of the existing guide tables.
The Eclore Actuators solution: custom bellows for X and Y axes
Eclore’s expertise in custom mechanical components provided an effective technical response. We developed specific flat bellows designed to protect the X and Y axes efficiently.
The strategy implemented involved installing four units per table, ensuring total coverage while respecting the client's dimensional constraints to the millimeter. Each bellow was manufactured to ensure increased durability and simplified installation on existing equipment.
Results: reliability and operational performance
To date, 24 bellows have been successfully installed on GN Hearing A/S equipment.
This intervention has allowed them to:
- secure guide axes against wear risks;
- maintain the compactness of the original system;
- ensure durable and reliable protection for production operations.
